FURminator DeShedding Tool – Cats

Cats take meticulous care of their coats. They lick to groom and to keep their coat clean, shiny and untangled.

Frequent brushing of our cat can help eliminate possible hairballs which can not only cause your cat distress, but can also be dangerous to their health. Brushing daily for just 5 minutes can be an effective way to give your cat a shiny coat, and eliminates dead fur and dirt – leaving your cat’s coat healthy and tangle-free.

The FURminator was designed with a special edge that allows the tool to push through the topcoat to easily and gently remove the undercoat and loose hair without cutting or damaging your pet’s skin.

Why Brush Your Cat?

Brushing your cat maintains their fur and helps to keep knots at bay. While brushing you can also detect possible problems (fleas, ticks…) or other skin issues. Brushing also helps to prevent excessive shedding. And finally, it’s a good excuse to spend more time with, and bond with your kitty.

When / How Frequently ?

It is very important to help your cat shed their fur. Depending on the length and thickness of your cat’s coat, you will need to adapt the frequency of the brushing. You might need to brush them several times a week, or depending on need, it could be more or less. By regularly brushing your cat, you will find the regimen that is right for you both.

The furminator looks great for cats. I have the one for dogs and it’s by far the best deshedding tool I’ve used. I will surely give this one for cats a try. I’m sure I will not be disappointed. My cat is short haired so I believe I only have to brush once a week. I’m also looking for a method to bathe my kitty. Sometimes he gets caught up in a mess and needs my assistance bathing. Any recommendations?

Hi Christina. Yes, the FURminator is great for Labs! I have a black lab and you would be amazed at the amount of fur he can spread around the house! After getting a FURminator I don’t have to sweep my house twice a day like I used to. The FURminator has been a blessing 🙂
